Institutional Research Ethics Committee
Institutional Research Ethics Committee (IREC) was established to review and consider for approval all ILRI research activities involving human subjects with a view to safeguard their dignity, rights, safety and well-being and the wider community.
Institutional Biosafety Committee
ILRI Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) oversees biosafety aspects of research at ILRI and ensures compliance to regulatory requirements and international standards on biosafety and biosecurity. Thus, the committee reviews, approves and oversees the use of biological materials and other hazardous materials proposed to be used within ILRI research facilities.
Institutional Animal Care and use Committee
The Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) is a self-regulating entity that was established by ILRI for purposes of overseeing and evaluating all aspects of ILRI’s animal care and use program. It requires that all principal investigators who use vertebrate animals in their research
